Andy has been an proudly waving the "indie" flag since 2004, having made the award-winning indie games Monaco, Venture Africa and Venture Arctic. Before that he worked for a number of years in the big-budget gaming industry as an AI and online programmer. Currently, he's polishing up Monaco probably working in his underwear.
Wolfgang Engel is the CTO/CEO and co-founder of Confetti Special Effects Inc., a think-tank for advanced real-time graphics research for the video game and movie industry. Previously he worked for more than four years in Rockstar's core technology group as the lead graphics programmer. He’s also a noted speaker on graphics programming and has written and edited several books. He serves on multiple industry advisory boards and has been a Microsoft* MVP for DirectX* since July 2006.
Rami Ismail is the Business & Development Guy at Vlambeer, a Dutch independent game studio known best for IGF 2011 'Excellence in Design'-nominee Super Crate Box, LUFTRAUSERS, Ridiculous Fishing, GUN GODZ, Serious Sam: The Random Encounter & Radical Fishing. Through his work at Vlambeer, Rami has come to realize that the marketing & business facets of many independent game developers could use some help. As such, he created the free presskit-creation tool presskit() and is working on releasing its first add-on, release().
Jordan Weisman has been the creative force behind several interactive entertainment companies, including his latest ventures: Harebrained-Schemes LLC and Go Go Kiddo Inc. Along the way, he created MechWarrior, Shadowrun and Crimson Skies, three of the longest running franchises in the game industry.
A 20-year industry veteran, Chris Taylor founded Gas Powered Games (GPG) in 1998, where he currently serves as the CEO and Creative Director. GPG’s titles to date include the critically acclaimed, best-selling Dungeon Siege role-playing game series; the genre-defining, real-time-strategy game Supreme Commander; the innovative online RTS game Demigod; and, most recently, the history-based RTS game Age of Empires Online.
Jared Gerritzen independent Studio Director at Zombie in Seattle Washington. Cut his teeth as game developer in the MOD community, and worked professionally as a 2D/3D artist, FX designer, Level/Game designer, and Creative Director on over 11 titles including Drakan, F.E.A.R., Blacklight, and Daylight. After 15 years he still thanks the day he stopped everything to focus on making games and will never return to the world of modeling.
Mark Terrano is the Chief Creative Officer at indie developer Hidden Path Entertainment in Bellevue, WA (www.hiddenpath.com). His recent work has been on Defense Grid II, Counterstrike:Global Offensive, and Age of Empires II HD (as lead designer of the original AOE II:Age of Kings, he describes releasing that product twice in one lifetime an amazing and unexpected treat). Previously he was in the Xbox Advanced Technology Group and worked on launching the Xbox360 and Xbox Live while helping developers use that platform. Mark serves on several college curriculum advisory boards, as an AIAS peer panelist, and is a highly-acclaimed lecturer on game design topics.
