Code for Good Hackathon at Earlham College, April 27, 2013 - Hacking for Climate Change

The Intel Student hackathon team is swinging into action this Spring with a number of Hackathons.  On April 27, 2013, we will be visiting Earlham College in Indiana.  For those reading this outside the United States, Indiana is located at the center of the country in an area we call the Midwest.  Earlham students have a long tradition of concern about global issues.   For this hackathon, they are choosing to address the issue of global climate change.    The Earlham College Hackathon problem statement is “Use technology and the power of visualization + geocoding to show location specific long term climate trends.”

I am not worthy.  Ivan Babic and Elena Sergienko each posted absolutley fantatstic blogs.

I have a feeling that this hackathon will be a hard one to beat.  The combination of quick app protyping and power to build versatile cross-platform apllications using HTML5 with these students knowledge of big data manipulation should prove very interesting
