Start Location local alive or dead


In the input file the start location is specified.
Can this location also be se to alive as an initial state?
Or put another way, does the intellegent cell have to start on a dead cell?

All the examples on the clickmaze site all start on a dead cell.
And the processing of the iLife editable grids process as if the start pixel is dead.

Yeah, I also noticed that Dodo's input files had the intelligent cell listed among the living.

While we're waiting for an official answer, my advice is to overwrite the existing cell with the intelligent one, regardless of whether it was initially living or dead. Once you place the intelligent cell there it's treated as living. Don't double count it. On its first move, the intelligent cell vacates the space (except on direction 0) and leaves it as dead.

This way you'll be covered whether it's listed or not.
