I was going to run Remote Linux Sampling collection, when I get the error message:
Sampling data can not be written to a network drive. Please use a fixed drive for your project directory.
My first reaction was to look for the problem at the remote Linux box:
Restarting ?vtserver?, checking permissions in the directories, checking for sampling driver, ?vtune? group membership etc.
I spent a lot of time until finally I realized that the problem was in the local (Windows box) path for the new Project I opened.
I created the local project on the drive which was mapped to some local disk path (which was rather long).
As far as I understand there are some technical problems when local(!) project path is on the mapped drive both for local and remote sampling collection.
So opening a new project on local disk fully solves the problem.
