PC Gaming is Big and Getting Bigger: Good Time to Be a Developer

A new report released this week from not-for-profit gaming industry watchdog PC Gaming Alliance announced that PC game sales are, to put it mildly, going through the roof. Over $20 billion in sales were made in 2012 for PC games alone, with no signs of slowing down even though mobile and social gaming are the most popular that they have ever been. Annual growth of the PC game market according to the report was 8%, with more than a billion PC gamers estimated around the world:

Gaming Piracy - Separating Fact from Fiction

I’m sure most of us have all seen and heard the news recently that’s flared up again on Gaming Piracy and DRM issues.   I’d like to address what I feel is one of the most misunderstood, and taken out of context issues that’s plagued this industry for years; and it’s time to put a put a nail in the coffin on this issue.   PC gaming is not being pirated to the tune of 90% by any stretch of the definition.

Solitude and Zombies: Waking up to a New Gaming Industry

 

A long time ago, a mentor encouraged me to wake up earlier each day and spend some quiet time thinking about what’s going on in my life. While my job responsibilities and family were growing, my attention span was shrinking. I was becoming someone that life just “happened to.” I didn’t like it and he was tired of hearing me complain about it. So now I slow down a little each morning  to thoughtfully consider my priorities and the bigger picture of life. It’s really helped me to prioritize my time (as well as remember all my kids’ names).
