Quick Installation Guide for Graphics Performance Analyzers on Windows with Intel® INDE

Intel® INDE provides a comprehensive toolset for developing applications targeting both CPU and GPUs, enriching the development experience of a game or media developer. Yet, if you got used to work with the legacy Intel® Graphics Performance Analyzers or if you just want to get started using those tools quickly, you can follow these steps and install only the Graphics Performance Analyzers components of Intel® INDE.

Go to the Intel® INDE Web page, select the edition you want to download and hit Download link:

    While talking to a very intelligent but non-engineer colleague, I found myself needing to explain the threading and other components of the current and next generation Intel® Xeon Phi™ architectures. The first topic that came up was hyper-threading, and more specifically, the coprocessor’s version of hyper-threading. Wracking my brain, I finally hit upon an analogy that seemed to suit: the common kitchen.

    Fast Fourier Transform for Image Processing in DirectX* 11

    This sample demonstrates an optimized FFT that uses compute shaders and Shared Local Memory (SLM) to improve performance by reducing memory bandwidth.Two FFT techniques are discussed. The first is UAV and operates by ping-ponging data repeatedly between Unordered Access Views (UAVs). SLM (Shared Local Memory) is the second technique and is a more memory-bandwidth-efficient method, showing significant performance gains when bottlenecked by memory bandwidth.

    Demonstrates how to implement an efficient sorting routine with the OpenCL™ technology that operates on arbitrary input array of integer values. The sample uses properties of bitonic sequence and principles of sorting networks and enables efficient SIMD-style parallelism through OpenCL vector data types. The code is designed to work well on modern CPUs.
