This tutorial will guide you to your first cross-platform application using the Multi-OS Engine installed on Mac OSX* which we refer to as local build. You can also develop your Android* and iOS* applications in Android Studio on Windows* but in order to simulate your iOS application, you will need to remotely deploy your app to a Mac system running Xcode* (hence remote build). For this scenario, check our getting started guide with Multi-OS Engine (remote build). In this tutorial, I will show you how to create a simple Hello World application for Android and iOS with code-sharing between the two applications. In a real-world scenario, most of your application logic will be shared.

    We've made some big changes in the Intel® XDK Early Access for which we need your help to test!   As you know we started the Intel XDK Early Access to get feedback on new technologies and features that we hope to put into the Intel XDK product eventually.  In this case, we have some changes that we need immediate feedback on so that we can more quickly migrate them into the product.

    Developing HTML5 Games with the Intel® XDK Articles

    The Intel® XDK provides a comprehensive toolset for the development HTML5/JavaScript* games on multiple platforms. In this tutorial series we will be developing a version of the game Snake using the Cocos2d-JS* game engine.

    This tutorial is intended for users who are not familiar with Cocos2d-JS or the Intel XDK but are familiar with HTML5/JavaScript. By the end of this you will understand the process of building a game with the XDK and from there you should be able to branch off to more complicated projects.

    Logging is an important part of any application. In this blog post we will look at a few alternatives to do logging with the Intel Multi-OS Engine:

    • the Android logging API
    • slf4j with either the simple logger or the Android logger implementation
    • the log4j API with slf4j
