Parallel programming is becoming more important with each new generation of technology – the latest Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v2 Product Family now features up to 12 cores, 24 threads, 256-bit vectors, and 119 GB/s memory bandwidth1.  The Intel® Xeon Phi™ product family takes parallelism to a whole new level, with up to 61 cores, 244 threads, 512-bit vectors, and 352 GB/s memory bandwidth. 

The Intel® Xeon Phi™ coprocessor plugs into a server or workstation x16 PCIe slot, is available in several thermal cooling configurations, and delivers over 2X greater performance on highly-parallel applications compared with the Intel® Xeon® processor E5 family.2,3,4
