ifort 2GB Record Memory Limit Bug on Intel® Itanium® and Intel® 64 Architecture

Problem Description : Reading/writing files in large chunks (>2GB) may truncate to 2 GB on Linux* distros using kernel 2.6.16 or later.  This includes SLES* 10 and 11 and RHEL5*.  Starting with kernel 2.6.16 the behavior of read() and write() has changed effectively limiting single reads and writes to 2GB for the current Intel® Fortran Compilers.  This applies to both Intel® Itanium® and Intel® 64 architecture.

Resolution Status : This has been fixed in versions 11.1.046 and later.
