If you got a Java application already published in the Intel AppUp(sm) Center and you want to submit an updated version of the same application, it is essential that your final .JAR file should have the same name as your already published application. Also make sure that you don’t change your Publisher Name. If you make changes to either your publisher name or change the name of .JAR file, Intel AppUp client will consider it a new application and not an update to your existing published app. The SDK for Java includes the Intel AppUp Software Packaging Utility that integrates and packages required jar files and application manifest into a single jar file prior to submitting the file to the Intel AppUp developer program portal. Your “Publisher” name and the “Main Jar File” that you provide to the Intel AppUp Software Packaging Utility should be same as the one you provided for the previous application that is already published. Example: 1. Let’s assume that you provided below details to the Intel AppUp Software Packaging Utility (Published Java application) a. Main Jar File: C:\Jar Files\Input\TestAppUpJava.Jar b. Publisher: My Publisher Name c. Final single jar file produced by the Intel AppUp Software Packaging Utility: TestAppUpJava.Jar Let’s say you submitted the TestAppUpJava.jar and it is published. 2. Now you made a change to your Java application and want to submit an updated version. Your updated final jar file that you are going to upload in Intel AppUp developer program portal should have the same name as the already published application. The details you need to provide to the Packaging utility to get a final Jar file should be the same details as above a. Main Jar File: C:\Jar Files\ Input\ TestAppUpJava.Jar b. Publisher: My Publisher Name c. Final single jar file produced by the Intel AppUp Software Packaging Utility: TestAppUpJava.Jar. Submit the latest TestAppUpJava.Jar in Intel AppUp developer program portal to update your already published application.
