Known Issue: RPM Installation Failure Due to Dependency Errors

Issue

When installing the Linux* packages via RPM, the installation will fail due to dependency errors, such as:

intel-comp-l-all-common-031 = 16.0 is needed by intel-comp-l-all-031-16.0.0-0.i486

Workaround

In order to install via rpm, use

rpm –uv --nodeps [RPMs_to_install]

Where [RPMS_to_install] is either individual RPMs to be installed or a wildcard representation of all RPMs to install.  This will allow installation to proceed normally.

    If you are installing any of the Intel® Software Development Products on a system with no internet connectivity, internet activation will not work.  Additionally, if you have a firewall that prevents online activation, you can fall back to offline activation.

  • Installing VTune(TM) Amplifier XE Command-line Collectors on Remote Systems

    The VTune™ Amplifier XE performance profiler can be used to collect data on one system and view it on another, without requiring additional licenses.  Licenses are only required to view data.  Additionally, if the remote systems does not support a graphical environment, such as X on Linux*, you can use the command-line collectors to collect the data and view it graphically on your graphically-capable host system.

     Intel® Math Kernel Library contains many different components which support several target platforms, programming languages, threading models etc.  In the previous versions on MKL, users installed all of these components as there was no option to ignore the components they do not need.

     

    In the latest version of Intel® MKL ( v.11.1 )  there is a new installation option which allows a user  to select the list of components he/she will need and install only these ones.

    All Intel® Software Development Products have a unique Intel serial number. To find your Intel® Software serial number for products you have registered follow Steps 1 to Step 3 mentioned in the bottom of this article.
