An Overview of the Storage Plugin for Intel® Enterprise Edition for Lustre* Software

In today’s data centers, big data has placed a greater demand for performance at large scale for storage systems. The Lustre* file system was purpose-built to provide sustained storage performance and stability on a large scale for high-performance computing (HPC) systems.  However, as commercial  enterprises have begun to deploy HPC technologies, Intel created an enhanced version of Lustre known as Intel® Enterprise Edition for Lustre* software. Enterprise Edition enables fully parallel I/O throughput across clients, servers, and storage devices.

    Software-Defined Storage (SDS) is a software layer that manages storage infrastructure.  Software developers have the flexibility to use a variety of hardware, such as processors, network cards, and hard drives with their storage managing software to develop their own SDS solutions.  In this blog, I share some examples of developers using Intel enabling technologies (features of the hardware and/or software) to develop their SDS solutions.

    "error #10310: Failed to enable trusted storage check for licensing: Warning" Enable Trusted Storage failed (flexnet error code 20). Trusted Storage based licence could " is a known issue. The workaround for the issue is to set the library paths.

  • A home system for gaming and storage - part 1

    It is very difficult to find a preconfigured computer (workstation) which is intended for storage intensive tasks, and has a provision for a high end graphics card.  My home system is used for both purposes!   I wish to run current 3D accelerated games, and I do video work which requires larger amounts of storage.  So when it came time to update my system, I decided to record the odyssey.
