Display Device Horizontal and Vertical Scaling Question


I'm kinda new here, so I'm just gonna cut to the chase. I'd just like to ask what IGFX structure was used in setting/getting the value of Horizontal and Vertical Scaling (Customize Aspect Ratio) in Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel?

I tried IGFX_DISPLAY_CONFIG_1_1 structure but it always returns IGFX_FAILURE.

Please have comments and advise.



device for get harware error from motherboard

Tell me please device for diagnosing or receiving error codes from the motherboard of the server (for example, intel s2600j. Ideal universal tool)
It necessary if not possible to boot the server. For example if some memory module have bug or something else.

When you see a black screen, the server becomes a black box. May be exists any something device for diagnostics / receive errors in this situation?

Or tell me where to look.

3D engine

Hello there,

ok, here we go, I have a dream, make a 3D engine 100% assembler intel only with CPU, I use rotation matrix only for now.

it works of course, but it's slow when I put a lot of pixels.

Recently I decided to include voxels in my engine, and it's slow when I put> = 8000 voxels (20 * 20 * 20 cube) and when I saw that nvidia display 32M voxels (fire) I wonder how they can do it !

And I have a little idea of  the reason: MMU, paging, segmentation. memory.
Am I right?

PCI Host Bridge Resource Allocation Protocol Questions

Hello All,

I have a few questions regarding the PCI Host Bridge Resource Allocation Protocol specification that can be found here.

From what I can gather, for each PCI root bridge runs the SubmitResources()  that points to a descriptor table requesting resources for that PCI root bridge. 

Programmatically access intel gpu stats

I am writing a powershell script that gets cpu, memory, network, and gpu information over a period of time. I can access everything except gpu information for intel products because they do not supply a powershell class for this (As far as I can tell). I am wondering how I can get this information. Powershell commands would be most useful, but at this point I'll try anything. Please note that this needs to be done many times so looking at a GUI is out of the question. The machine I'm testing on uses an Intel Iris PG 5200 if that matters.

I was reading the "Desktop 4th Generation Intel® Core™Processor Family" Datasheet at https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/datasheets/4th-gen-core-family-desktop-vol-2-datasheet.pdf


...and it shows the Local (CPU) APIC address to be at FEC80000h -

I am investigating the possibilities for building an air-tight high performance and fully redundant server system for virtualization with the focus on high availability critical (actual life and death) applications.

Memory copy using Intel Quickdata technology

I am doing the experimentation on improving the memory-to-memory copy performance (NIC to memory also, but secondary). I have seen that Intel I/OAT provides the Quickdata technology feature to offload the copies using DMA engine.

1. I haven't seen many i/oat related discussions in past few years, is it replaced with other more improved technology in new chipsets?

2. I need the Quickdata technology feature, how can I detect that my processor has Quickdata technology? In lspci, it is not showing anything related to Intel Quickdata Technology.
