For full OpenCL* support on Intel® Architecture Processors, the following components are available:
Provide OpenCL* runtime and complier across both Intel® Processor (CPU) and Intel® Processor Graphics (GPU).
The support for Intel® Processor Graphics is available only with the 3rd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family. To run OpenCL* applications, latest version of Intel® HD Graphics Driver is recommended to be installed.
The SDK is a comprehensive software developer kit for OpenCL* applications on Intel® Architecture processors. The SDK includes Intel OpenCL* headers, libraries, developer tools, optimization guide, and product documentation.
OpenCL* support on previous generations of Intel® Core™ Processor Family or for Intel® Xeon® processor is available on CPU only. OpenCL* runtime and complier for CPU only systems is available through the SDK installation or for windows* only systems, directly via the Intel® SDK for OpenCL* - CPU runtime only package.
Free downloaded Code samples, Tutorials, and Optimization best known methods for OpenCL* on Intel® Architecture are available online.
The SDK web site extends your content with videos, tech articles, case studies, and support forums and is an integral component of this SDK. Most update information is always available on the site.
See diagram below for short description of the available OpenCL* related components from Intel.
Intel's compilers may or may not optimize to the same degree for non-Intel microprocessors for optimizations that are not unique to Intel microprocessors. These optimizations include SSE2, SSE3, and SSSE3 instruction sets and other optimizations. Intel does not guarantee the availability, functionality, or effectiveness of any optimization on microprocessors not manufactured by Intel. Microprocessor-dependent optimizations in this product are intended for use with Intel microprocessors. Certain optimizations not specific to Intel microarchitecture are reserved for Intel microprocessors. Please refer to the applicable product User and Reference Guides for more information regarding the specific instruction sets covered by this notice.
