Behavior in VGA Display Mode

Intel AMT displays two kinds of sprites: a user consent sprite with a consent code and a KVM session reminder icon that appears periodically in the upper right-hand corner of the display to inform the user that a remote KVM session is in progress. The user consent sprite remains displayed until the IT operator sends the consent code remotely or until the consent sequence times out. The KVM reminder appears every three seconds for one second.

When the display is in VGA mode (for example, when displaying a DOS screen), a sprite cannot be displayed with the application contents simultaneously. In this case, the user consent sprite preempts the application display. The KVM reminder icon is displayed for one second every eight seconds. During that second, the entire screen turns black and the image in the viewer freezes.
