SDK Resources > User Consent Tool > Connection Settings Window

Connection Settings Window

The Connection Settings window defines the settings that the User Consent Tool uses to connect to the remote Intel AMT system. It is displayed the first time the User Consent Tool is started, and until the first successful connection is established. The defined settings are used by default for all connections, or can be changed per connection by clicking Edit from the Main window.

The following table describes the options available from the Connection Settings window.

Option

Description

Authentication Settings

These settings define how the User Consent Tool will authenticate itself with the remote system:

IP or FQDN – The IP address (in IPv4 or IPv6 format) or the FQDN of the remote Intel AMT system. The User Consent Tool saves the latest connection settings for each system. If you select a system from the drop-down list, the connection settings fields are populated automatically.

Digest – If selected, a user name and password must be supplied.

Kerberos – If selected, the User Consent Tool will use the currently logged on user, unless a different user is specified. The Kerberos user must be provided in the format of DomainName\UserName.

TLS Settings

These settings define the level of security that the User Consent Tool will use when communicating with the remote system.

None – Do not use Transport Level Security (TLS).

Server Authentication – If selected, the root certificate needed for server TLS must be installed in the trusted root store of the computer running the User Consent Tool.

Mutual Authentication – If selected, the client certificate needed for mutual TLS must be installed in the personal certificates store of the computer running the User Consent Tool. Optionally, you can also provide a Common Name (CN) in the Client Certificate CN field.

Proxy Settings

These settings define if the User Consent Tool will connect to the remote system via a proxy.

If the Use Proxy (Remote Access) check box is selected, an address (in IPv4 or IPv6 format) or the FQDN of the proxy plus the proxy port must be provided. If required by the proxy, provide the user name and password.
