Get Time Source

The following steps describe how to get the sync time source using the Time Synchronization service.

1.  Retrieve the instance of AMT_TimeSynchronizationService, where “the “Name” key equals “Intel(r) AMT Time Synchronization Service”.

2.  Examine the AMT_TimeSynchronizationService.TimeSource property to check the time source:

   BIOS_RTC – this is the default value when the system first boots and initializes the time from BIOS_RTC before there is any SW running on the platform.  In this case, it is not known whether the time is local or UTC.

   CONFIGURED – in this case the FW time is set to UTC by UNS or ACU or SCS or other configuration SW.

$timeSynchronizationServiceRef =$wsmanConnectionObject.NewReference("SELECT * FROM AMT_TimeSynchronizationService WHERE Name='Intel(r) AMT Time Synchronization Service'")

$timeSynchronizationServiceInstance =$timeSynchronizationServiceRef.Get()

$timeSource =$timeSynchronizationServiceInstance.GetProperty("TimeSource")
