Support for Rotated Displays

Hardware KVM implementations usually cannot compensate for rotated displays because they cannot detect the display orientation. The client viewer needs to rotate the screen image based on operator input. Intel AMT Release 8.0 can detect when the screen is rotated and includes the orientation in RFB protocol messages to the client viewer. The managed system must have the appropriate Intel® Graphics driver installed to receive these notifications. The viewer can then rotate the display without operator intervention. The Integrated Viewer Application demonstrates this capability. Viewers using the default desktop mode rotate the display automatically (see Choosing a Display Mode).

Viewers working with earlier versions of Intel AMT KVM or supporting managed systems with bare-bones (in-box driver) installations should provide an operator control to rotate the display image.
