Wireless Profile Parameters

A CIM_IEEE8021xSettings object is used to create a wireless profile. It supports the various fields required by all of the 802.11 profile types.

 Note:

Intel AMT does not check many of the strings in the profile for more than correct length. These parameters are used to authenticate with external equipment such as a RADIUS server, and must conform to the naming requirements of such devices or services. For example, user names must not have special characters embedded in them (“ / \ [ ] : ; | = , + * ? < >).

Wireless profiles may include the following parameters:

     Profile name

     Profile priority

     Network Name (SSID)

     Security Settings

Key Management approach: Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) or Robust secure Network (RSN)

Encryption Algorithm: Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) or Counter Mode CBC MAC Protocol (CCMP)

     Authentication: Passphrase or 802.1x profile

Domain: Length is limited to 40 characters in Intel AMT Release 5.1.10. Starting with Intel AMT Releases 4.2 and 5.2 this field is limited to 128 characters.

Username: Length is limited to 32 characters. Starting with Intel AMT Releases 4.2 and 5.1.10 this field is limited to 128 characters.

CIM_WiFiPort.PortType contains the 802.11 protocol capability currently in use (802.11a, b, g, or n). The Intel AMT WebUI displays this value.
