AVX2 support

AVX2 support

Is IACA still being maintained? If so, can one expect AVX2 instruction support any time soon?

Yes, Intel Architecture Code Analyzer is still being maintained. I am currently working on adding support for
Ivy Bridge (3rd generation Intel Core family), then will work on
adding support for Haswell (which will include AVX2 and FMA). I cant offer a specific date at this point,
but it is in the works.

Good to know. Thanks.

Is it also planned to support Sandy Bridge ? I ask because you say here that the current AVX path is more like Nehalem :

it willmake senseto release a Sandy Bridge version before the Ivy Bridge one, isn't it?

We'veconsidered itbut decided not tosupport a processor model that is compatible withSandy Bridge microarchiteture.

thanks for the quick feedback, doyou know when the Ivy Bridge support will be available in IACA ?

I can't provide a release date for Ivy Bridge support in IACA at this time. However, we will release a version of IACA with proper Sandy Bridge support in the near future.
