Compiler Wrapper Scripts Returning 0 Incorrectly

There is currently a known issue in the Intel® MPI Library for Linux*, affecting Version 5.0 and Version 5.0 Update 1.  The compiler wrapper scripts will always return 0, even if the compile or link failed.  This can lead to errors in makefiles or any job checking the return code.  The error is corrected and a fix is available in Version 5.0 Update 2.

    The Intel® MPI Library supports two main methods to allow user authentication across a Windows* OS cluster:

    • Password-based authorization

    • Domain-based authorization

    Use -check_mpi option to link the resulting executable file against the Intel® Trace Collector correctness checking library. This has the same effect as when -profile=vtmc is used as an argument to mpiicc or another compiler script.

    Communication problems with the Intel® MPI Library are usually caused by a signal termination (SIGTERM, SIGKILL, or other signals). Such terminations may be due to a host reboot, receiving an unexpected signal, out-of-memory (OOM) manager errors and others.
