Offload Runtime for the Intel® Xeon Phi™ Coprocessor

The Intel® Xeon Phi™ coprocessor platform has a software stack that enables new programming models.  One such model is offload of computation from a host processor to a coprocessor that is a fully-functional Intel® Architecture CPU, namely, the Intel® Xeon Phi™ coprocessor.  The purpose of that offload is to improve response time and/or throughput.  The attached paper presents the compiler offload software runtime infrastructure for the Intel® Xeon Phi™ coprocessor, which includes a production C/C++ and Fortran compiler that enables offload to that coprocessor, and an underlying Intel

    OpenMP* 4.0 Features in Intel C++ Composer XE 2013

    The current OpenMP* 4.0 RC1 specification and associated TR1 technical report (both available from http://openmp.org) adds new features for controlling vectorization and execution on coprocessors.

    Intel® C++ Composer XE 2013 Update 2 (compiler version 13.1) supports two of these new features regarding the simd and target clauses. These are similar to existing Intel-specific compiler directives.

  • MKL VSL example for grouppooledcovariance (vsldgrouppooledcovariance.f) failed with PGI threading layer.

    Problem Description:

    Grouppooledcovariance example crashs with segmentation fault with PGI threading layer on all platforms due to error in PGI support of OpenMP order clause.

    We can see this example “vsldgrouppooledcovariance.f” into the following directory MKL_ROOT>\examples\vslf\source\". This example shows how to calculates of group/poopled covariances.
