VPP Resize yuy2 output problem

Hi,

I am running into a problem when using the sample_vpp application to scale yuy2 video.  In this test I used the compiled sample_vpp.exe provided in the MediaSDK installation.  Note that this same process does work with rgb4 input and output.

Test case 1: sample_vpp -lib sw -sw 1920 -sh 1080 -scc yuy2 -dw 960 -dh 540 -dcc yuy2 -n 1 -i aspen.yuv -o aspen_scaled.yuv

The output image is the correct size but appears to be in a planar format based on trying to view in YUVTools.  So then I tried not scaling by keeping the output size to match the input size:

Multidimensional DFT and OpenMP

I'm working on a program that performs several 3 x 3d (N1xN2xN3) DFTs using the MKL DFT algorithm. I'm running most of the program in parallel using OpenMP and I'd like to get as much parallel performance from the DFT section as well as it accounts for a significant portion of the programs runtime. However when I try to increase the number of threads I find that the performance improvement plateaus at 3 threads, i.e., the number of transforms for each call. If instead I break up the transform into 3xN1 2d transforms the parallel performance continues to scale beyond 3 threads.

Intel vtune is very slow in finalizing results(linux)

Hi,

I'm using intel vtune amplifier 2015(linux version). my sample time of the work load is 180 seconds. I gave my SW build with debug symbols enabled. 

In vutune->project properties, I gave the path for the build and the source files and symbols. When i give re-resolve, vtune takes more than 1 hour to finalize and display results. The progress bar goes to 30% and remains stuck there and it says "finalizing results " for more than an hour.

What is the problem here. why does it take so long to display results when i hit re-resolve?

  • Blocks of different sizes in ScaLAPACK?

    I am performing a Cholesky factorization with Intel-MKL, which uses ScaLAPACK. I distributed the matrix, based on this example, where the matrix is distributed in blocks, which are of equal size (i.e. Nb x Mb). I tried to make it so that every block has it's own size, depending on which process it belongs, so that I can experiment more and maybe get better performance.

    Debugging internal Fortran subroutine

    Hello,

    I have a Fortran subroutine that has internal subroutines and functions which it calls. The program runs, but once I step into an internal subroutine, debugging variables define in principal usbroutine is impossible. It is as if it does not inherit the debug information from the enclosing subroutine. All the variables are undefined in the debugger.

    Does anyone know how to get around this problem ?

    Fortran Runtime Library (forrtl) error numbers and iostat values

    Hi,
    I am working on improving error handling in my codes, and have ran into some questions:

    1) When reading a file, I want to check “iostat” values to see whether EOF is reached (IVF seems to set "iostat=-1" for EOF condition).

    Is there some named/parameterised value that can be used instead of hardcoding "-1"?

    I’d like something similar to "FOR$IOS_ENDDURREA" (forrtl=24), but for iostat values instead.

    And some follow on questions - would appreciate some general guidance:

    Serial number is already registered problem.

    I own a copy of Intel Fortran compiler.  I had a disastrous hard drive crash and lost my original installation.  But when I go to the registration site and log in, it tells me I don't have any registered products.  When I enter the serial number of my product, it tells me the serial number is already registered, and doesn't give me an option to download my product.  

    What is going on?  Why can't I access my (expensively bought) product?

    How to get a LIB project to link with an EXE project.

    I have a VS solution which contains two vfproj's.  One for a main program and one for a LIB.  I'm getting unresolved externals because the LIB doesn't seem to be getting linked with the EXE.  What is the proper way to set this up?  I'm using VS 2010.  With an old version of vs with cvf I vaguely recall typing the LIB's name into a field somewhere in project settings.  Is it still done that way today?
