There Came an Echo: Iridium Studios on Using Voice Recognition to Control Your Gameplay

Join Jason Wishnov, CEO, Founder and Lead Designer at Iridium Studios as he talks about Iridium’s new tactical war game, "There Came An Echo" and how it uses the new Intel® RealSense™ Technology  [formerly Perceptual Computing] speech recognition capabilities to drive the combat action in the game with voice commands.  As Wishnov says, doing a speech controlled game is tough but with the help of Intel RealSense Technology’s speech recognition capabilities, There Came An Echo not only allows you at the Field Commander of a small squad to direct units around a map to accomplish various objectives with commands like  "open fire," or "Corrin, head to Bravo 3,” but it is also interactive with the ability for squad members to come back to the Field Commander at various points throughout missions, and make observations like "Sir, I've got a clear shot on an enemy target thirty meters away. Should I take the shot?"  Check out Jason’s thinking on speech controlled games and preview of There Came An Echo in this interesting and informative video.
